We are pleased to share the latest Captiva Beach Renourishment Total Progress Map, outlining the completed portions of Captiva Island’s renourished shoreline.

This map provides a visual guide to the week-by-week progression of the project from south to north, beginning in the southern quarter of the island and working towards Turner Beach, then continuing toward the northern end of the island. The yellow color-coded section on the map reflects the immediate anticipated work zone. The green color represents completed portions of the island, and the red color represents areas have not yet been constructed.

We sincerely appreciate your patience during previous delays and are excited to report that construction is now fully underway, with crews working efficiently to restore and protect our beach.

Date ranges and corresponding work zones from R-192 to R-1, including site demobilization.
🛈 Please note: Dates and zones are subject to change based on weather, equipment, and project logistics. Updated maps will be shared regularly to keep everyone informed.

🚧 What You Can Expect

  • Crews operating 24/7, with active work zones shifting northward weekly
  • Beach access may be restricted temporarily in active zones, but will reopen promptly once safe
  • Turner Beach parking lot remains closed during early phases
  • Alison Hagerup Beach lot will be closed later during northern operations
  • Safety signage and fencing will help ensure a safe experience for all

This beach renourishment project is an investment in Captiva’s future—enhancing storm protection, improving recreational access, and supporting the health of our coastal ecosystem. We thank all residents, visitors, and businesses for their understanding and support.
